I've added a metal links page to New Metal Army. You can find it at the bottom of every page. There is a list of all the sites that New Metal Army aggregates. There are a couple of sites that I visit all the time. Finally there are a set of links to UK affiliates that you can use to help support New Metal Army.

Words do not describe how good California thrashers Bonded By Blood are. Just watch the videos and be sure to watch them in HD if you can.

Origin/Nekkrosis/Nebukadnezza
metaldazza / May 8, 2009, 11:54 a.m.
In the last year the London Barfly has rearranged itself to provide bands with a bigger stage and the audience with a slightly better sound experience. Don't get me wrong it's still a pokey little shit hole with a tiny bar, sullen bar staff and toilets that stink.
In to this mess walk London thrashers Nebukadnezza, UK's death metal Nekkrosis and America's Origin.
Nebukadnezza put up their usual professional but slightly ageing set. The high note being the promise of a new record sometime this year which holds out the promise of new material. The pretty packed room seemed to like it but I can't help thinking that Neb's are missing something.
Nekkrosis were up next in what seemed like a lightening change over. No time to piss, death metal fills the now full room and the crowd doesn't know what to make of it. Combining guttural rumbles, screams of pain and barked words Nekkrosis switch between slow chugging and break neck speed death metal effortlessly. Quite why the bassist appears to be inserting a cactus up his arse through out most of the set I will, thankfully, never know.
Now it's time for Origin and they waste no time pressing play on the intro tape, easing into a safe metal stance and then attacking every note of every riff of every song with consummate skill and aggression.
It is a cliché to say that technical death metal bands are like machines but frankly it's true. Despite blistering speed the drummer looks like he could be picking new wall paper for his drawing room. Blast after blast of drums pound off the stage without fault but crucially with feeling (as odd as that sounds). Upon this solid foundation the bassist and guitarist romp through each song playing with each riff, willing their fingers to go faster and faster, reaching speeds that few can reach with such fidelity.
Origin are an awe inspiring live act and they are sure to return to London and be welcomed with open arms.
HD videos of the gig can be found HERE. Please rate and comment.
