Metal Map

Last week Lich King started to build a thrash map of thrash bands to help with setting up tours. Working with LK I've added a Metal Map to New Metal Army. The map displays bands and venues.

Why is this useful?:

• Help bands find venues and plan a tour with local support.
  
• Help fans find local bands for them to go and see.
  
• Help promoters find local bands to put together gigs.
  

ANYONE can edit or add a band or venue so register, add your band or venue and use the map to set up a tour. The map already has a lot of UK data on it but I hope bands from ALL over the world will add themselves and their local venues and start touring metal all over .



When you zoom in you can click on a band and see information about the band. Crucially how many times the band is listened to on Last.fm and by how many people. These statistics are updated nightly between 2am and 4am. This should give you some idea of how big the band is (although it's far from definitive).



If you zoom in all the heavy metal venues are displayed. Clicking on the venue brings up a link to the venue so you can contact them about playing their.
